but, like they said, if you mainly want to take pictures, buy a camera not a camcorder.

my little cybershot is made for pictures, but on the highest quality on a 32 mb card (friggin tiny) it can take a minute and a half movie.and thats in 640X480 resolution.

It's low light performance looks pretty good, but you still going to miss having a flash.

my nikon 5200 is the way to go. trust me i tried a ton of cameras. if u want something easy to use taht takes good video and awsome pictures. its 5 megapixel and takes pictures at 2592 x 1944 on its highest setting. and it will take a video as long as it can hold. so i tall matters which card you have in there. you also have to look at what type of media it uses. the 5200 uses sd which is the cheapest right now. there is some new ones that use xd and they are spendy. cf isnt bad either but sd is still cheaper. but if you want to do some reaserch of your own dp review

websense wont let me go there but ill check it out later. that jvc uses sd for stills and mini dv for video. i dont think she would ever have a need for 2592x1944. thanks!

she wont want to pay that much for just a still camera. the only reason she was/is willing to pay 349 is bc it has the video capabilities. im talking about video with audio.

ok, went yesterday with an sd card to take some pictures with different cameras and bring them home and check them out on my computer. well we took some pics and thanks to hp putting card readers in all of their new computers i just checked the pics out in the store. the pics from the original camera sucked pretty badly, after all its only .68 mp. she ended up getting the canon power shot elph sd200. its 3x opt, like 3.2 dg, 3.2 mp, 2" lcd, aluminum case, tiny, and has lots of options. it also records voice memos to go with pictures and does video with audio. it uses sd memory.

here it is: http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controlle...5&modelid=10595
