Contacted 2 lawyers today, left messages. Figure I will wait to see what they have to say before I contact any more of them.
4 of the hospital big wigs met with me last night, they are really nervous, they know they are getting sued, I think they will just settle out of court, don't know for how much though.

I feel bad for your dad, I got very sad and disturbed when I read where he
woke up and found himself, thats a shame he had to go thru that. Its also
bad that he felt he couldnt go the night alone, I hope he gets over it.

Time to do some quick research and see how much you can get.
In all honesty the lawyers will take all the money you will be better off settling.
Hmmmm.. What do you think will make you all happy. $50K - $100K?? There go your doctors bills.
Start high and threaten w/ lawyers and news crews if they dont settle this asap. See what they offer in return.

No not the same hospital, different one, seems like they are all the same though.
You know to be honest I hadn't really thought of a number, I was more thinking of the point it would drive home if they had to part with some cold hard cash. They really pissed me off, their concern was not for my Dad, but how to limit thier liability. Finding him rested solely on me.
I mean ****, he walked in 40 degree weather, pouring rain through downtown Seattle at 6 am completely out of his mind. We are lucky he didnt get mugged or something worse.

Trust me on this lone fact if you get a lawyer they will get a lawyer and then the lawyers will run up massive bills all in the name of your best interest. The only people who will wlak away with money will be the lawyers.
If you want to screw them out of money and dont want any then get a lawyer.

I agreee with Jim on this one. See what they offer, if you don't like it say: I will discuss an acceptable amount with my legal counsel.
If it were I, I would ask for:
1. Hospital and Dr's bills for this and previous outstanding balances: FREE and CLEAR
2. Hospital, Dr. and Prescription services for any respirtory related alements for the next 18 months: GRATIS/Free/zip-zilch-nada
3. 100K for Pain. Suffering and emotional distress
and most important:
All the Cappuachino you can drink!!!
