[quote name='Rob x-7' date='Aug 15 2005, 11:18 PM']I buy from the same guy at PC Richards for the last 14 years or so, I have his cell number and call him and harass him ahead of time

I generally buy things before they come out and go on display, the haggling process usually involves me calling him some names, him having to take a ciggerette break, then him making a few phone calls to get permission to sell it for that price, lol

That made me laugh.

it's a new car, i don't know where to start, there are no install kits, or wiring harnesses to buy. at least where i looked for them that is. circuit city ain't got ****, wal-mart does not have it either, and best buy won't sell it unless you let them install it.

i also thought about the new car thing also. not voiding any warranty at all, just people are petrified of them.

I use this thing called a multi meter.... that tells ign power, bat power, ground and usually the speaker wires match to some degree. purple and purple with stripe one speaker, etc, etc...

It's fairly simple. i can't remember ever having a deck installed.

I have installed a head unit before, I did in my 94 F-150, it was very simple, but the only thing that was stopping me was the adaptor and install kit. Now I can start on it this week.

I'll buy simple things from best buy; a wire, an adapter, a video game. I will try not to buy any expensive things from them ever again. Circuit City was a lot more helpful, and I like how you don't need the receipt to return something, they keep all your past purchases in the computer.

ive bought a few bigger things from best buy and have never had a problem. i did miss a payment once (by a couple of days) and i was hit with all of the interest that i hadnt paid (was one year no interest as long as you make the $10 a month minimum payment, and i was paying a lot more than that). when that happened i just dealt with it bc i knew that would happen if i missed or was late so i just payed it off the next month.

credit companies arent like banks, if you make payments in advance you still have to make one the next month. Best buy makes a lot of money from their credit division bc they will sell you stuff on credit with no interest (which is great for advertisement), but if you miss one payment you get all of the interest that you wouldve had plus a high interest rate. usually credit companies will take a late fee off the first time if you ask them, but not usually after that. Which to me, having a business mindset, its totally fair, thats how they make their money and you agreed to it.
