Snapped My Car Key....

so i snapped my car key and have no spare key.



the key didnt snap in the ignition and i have both pieces.



what should i do>? can mazda cut me a new key if i give them my vin number and show them i own it or do i need new door locks and a new ignition?



hope someone can help me im pissed and my car is so far away.

IIRC mazda can cut new keys for you if you have the VIN.

Dealer can make one from the VIN.

Yeah, just go to any dealer and let them know what happened, they can cut you a new one. You'll need to give them your VIN and Registration/title though.

yup dealer can cut it by code. had that done for my FD cause i wanted a shiny new key

my car is ghetto-wired already, i dont need to be doing any additional wire cutting, splicing etc.

Jon- Did they have new key's with the black plastic overmold?



I've always been meaning to score another one for the T2...but I tried one dealer and only had the Ilco straight metal ones...Thanks!

yeah, skim keys(pretty covered ones, some car companies put chips IN the cover) are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE...some customer almost freaked on me today because I told him a new key for his Chrysler Pacifica was gonna run him 94 bucks.
