The first rebuild I ever did, I added water to the car and fired her up. She ran and I was excited as hell! I was underneath the car on the creeper looking for leaks. I let her idle for about 5 minutes while I was underneath her. After that, I got up to look at the gauges....water temp was 105C!!!!! I almost **** a brick!...turned her off, let her cool down and added some more water. She was fine after that, but MAN...I was so lucky I got up at 5 minutes instead of 6 minutes.

that sucks... but like its been said if it was built good it should have a problem with the lil extra heat. ask me how i know.lol

i dunno what would be worse, blowing the engine cause of a lil overheating or crashing the car cause your looking at your commander....

Mechanic found the problem. I was running my electric fan the stupid way. I searched out a 12V source in a unused plug near the front coil pack. I pulled the 12V wire and was running the fan w/ it. It overheated the circuit and melted a plug up by the firewall and melted a relay box. It is white and is under the brake booster.

I am in need of one if anyone has a junker parts car and wants to sell it. I need the plug too so I need you to cut the wire below the plug.

BTW - The corrrect way to run the fan would be a heavy guage wire from the battery to the fan. Then use a relay to ground it.

That will be how its setup after we fix this.

It never ends.......

Yes its white and under the brake booster. I think its the same from N/A to Turbo. Not sure from Series 4 to Series 5 though.
