I was driving home and noticed my Greddy electronic boost guage was not working. I figured 1 of 2 things eiither the plug came loose on the back od a hose popped off. I dismissed it and drove over to pick up my son at his friends house.

I get there and leave the car idling since I plan on being there for 2-3 minutes tops and I had driven it a little hard on my way over.

They have a new motor home and the dad wants me to see it. So the car is now idling for about 7 minutes. I look out the front window of the motor home and see steam coming from under my hook.

I took off running for the car and turn it off. I look at my P.O.S. Autometer guage and it reads 230° which translates to about 215°. I cought it in time!

I blew a fuse that my elec. fan and boost guage is one. I have no idea why yet I am heading ou to the garage to find the fuse and replace it. Then check the connections.

That was a close one.

Good thing you caught it in time. I didn't catch mine, now I'm looking for a new motor.

Bah!! I cannot figure out what is wrong w/ the circuit. I have been chasing wires around for 2 hours now. I have no blown fuses in the fuse box under the dash. I cannot find any in line fuses anywhere that could possibly be blown.

Its weird because whatever curcuit it is on the E-Fan and the Boost guage share yet they seemd to be wired into completely different circuits.

I am going to take it to my mechanic in the morning. He can smell a short from outside the car and put his fingers on it in minutes. I would not be suprised if he finds this problem and fixes it in 10 minutes. Dammit!! I am supposed to be dyno tuning tomarrow afternoon. Gonna have to postpone it now.

lol my first fan setup was like that. i took it apart to put in the bigger fans, and i couldnt figure out how it actually worked (it did), i also managed to have it so the car ran for 2-3 seconds after i turned the key off

215 isn't bad, 230 is risky. I use to have this one wire on my haltech that always seemed to work its way loose. Maybe cause it was on the passenger floor and got kicked a lot. Driving along and all of a sudden look at the temp gauge and its off the charts. I could always feel my heart drop, horrible feeling.
