I work as a merchant mariner and the government has the right to have me pee in a bottle anytime they want. I can lose my job and documents for doing pot even if its on my own time and in a country where is legal.

The time to legalize pot is way past. Our government doesn't want to legalize it because they have set up such an big industry prosecuting it. This is a big money business. Look at how big the DEA has gotten, you just can't lay off all of those people. The prison system is a big growth industy. You would also have to stop releasing the rapests and killers from the jails to make room for pot smokers.

Also, the drug testing industry has been making money hand over fist. All the testing labs would have to be shut down and people put out of work. All of this over something that could grow in your back yard. Years ago, when I lived in Alaska, you could grow/own a small amount in your house. Of course thats before the churchs up there banded togather and had it voted illegal.(believe me on this one, I was there when it happened! A sad day!)

this is interesting, i always laugh about how pot is illegal yet alcohol not. I don't smoke pot cause i assosciate the terma Loser with it. All my life long friends who have smoked and continued to smoke keep on going downhill. Yet i have not seen this effect with alcohol.

I've seen that effect with alcohol plenty of times.

Yea I think this forum is the effect of alcohol, I must have been drunk to start this circus, prolly should have just smoked some weed, then I wouldn't have been motivated enough.

And funyuns.
and some pink popcorn!

Seriously, I agree with the pot bar idea, I think it would reduce the amount of taxes spent on fighting it now yet still keep it in a controlled environment.

That must be why we get so many "I'm so drunk" threads and never any "I'm so high" threads.

Edit: and some sour cream and onion chips

Anything else? Yeah, get me a box of condoms and some of that stuff. What's that stuff...we used to eat it all the time back in the day...that's right, *****. Bring me back some of that.

I voted Yes on the poll, but I don't think it should be taxed. Simply decriminalize possession and growth. People should be able to do what they want, but regulation and taxation will only muck things up like the tobacco industry.
