[quote name='spaceman Spiff' date='Apr 1 2005, 12:01 PM']by law it was already declared the husbands right, the courts said so alos, and even if she did wak up she couldnt have done anything, she was braindead, alls that would happen is she would open her eyes.

her eyes were open. she could move around by reflexes and impulses and crap, but she couldnt do anything for herself, and she also couldnt think.

[quote name='Jeff20B' date='Apr 1 2005, 01:45 PM']So was the husband married to two women at the same time? Couldn't he have divorced his 1st wife a long time ago? I no sundertand.

if im not mistaken both sides have to sign the papers to get a divorce, so if she cant sign the papers, he cant get a divorce.

and also, the brother wasnt allowed into the room when she was dying becuase before hand the nurses asked him to leave so they could run some tests or something, and then he starting making a fuss, and started arguing with the police officer that was there, so to avoid a huge scene michael just said that he wouldnt be allowed in the room anymore.

Seriously starving that girl to dead was probably worse than the pain endured in the state that she was in and shouldnt have been done in the first place. To not consider it euthenasia, wouldnt you have to hold back on the pain killers?

I think you guys are forgetting that she was braindead - ie. she wasn't in pain. She could have been subjected to all kinds of torture and it wouldn't have made any difference.
