why is it against the law for someone to assist someone who is terminally ill to kill themselves, but a person who is handicapped and cannot speak gets thier life taken away because thier husband says so?

its a sad day for mankind when a person who cannot fend for themselves gets murdered because thier husband has no more use for them

 

i personally dont have a problem with her being killed, its just the way that she was. because i guess she already was dead :\



i mean she was in that state for 13 some years, she was basically brain dead. (not sure if she really WAS braindead because she could still breath and such)there was no way she could come back from her state.

That is a tough call, I don't think humans are built to play God in situations like this one. A living will would have been the thing to have, along with the advice of her doctors. I can say I don't know anyone that would want to live thier life strapped to a hospital bed being fed through a tube, I can't really say weather or not she knew she was strapped to a hospital bed, but at some point the immediate family has to take the doctor's advice to heart, and try to be a little less selfish and let their loved one go.

 

I think it's fucked that the issue has been discussed on the various people invold motives, this boils down to one thing, would you under any circumstances, even if coherent want to live with a tube down your throat?



For me the answer is simple, NO. I don't care how i got there, if I am coherant and they tell me i am spending my days with a tube down my throat, i want it pulled, that's no life, no life at all.

 

they could have at least given her a lethal injection, even people who get the death sentence get humane treatment and the death is quick and without suffering
