I have only met/ran into 4 fd owners at the local car hangout over the past 3 years. They have all been really cool people, and they never looked down on me because I drive FC. One guy that happened to bump into on the road kinda drove up on me like he was the **** with his girl, but his attituded changed once he saw my laptop.

Too bad you didn't have any power to back up the laptop! Ahh just kidding with ya man! Next spring it will though

Dysfnctnl85- If you walked up to me and said "Hey man, can I take that thing for a ride?" I'd probably brush you off also. I think it's just the choice of words you said that gave him a bad first impression or maybe not. I like it when people come up to me and say "that thing isn't NA is it" Of course it's different with a FB than it is with a FD.

I would agree with you if I had not been blown off by so many FD owners and no FC owners.

I am an enthusiest. I love rotaries. If I see your car I will walk up and try to alk to you. Even if it pisses off my wife when we are out together.

I was at Target a few weeks ago and this riced out RX-7 came rolling threw. I looked at my wife and she said I'll be in houwares.

I walked over to the kid and he awas so cool. He just bought the car and being as he was 18 y/o he was into the ricey look of his car (hood scoop on the roof, turbo hood no turbo motor, wacky bright paint, etc...) We talked about the cars I gave him pointers on maintenance etc... I gave him a NP business card and hoped he would visit.

I have on many occasions met people who were just like this kid at Pettits. He was too good to talk to me even though I was more than enthusiastic over his ride. Looking it over asking lots of questions,.. well after about 3 questions it became obvious I was bothering him.

Sorry if it seems like I am generalizing FD owners. I have had this happen to me too many times. Its one of the main reasons I do not own one. I would rather be down and dirty with the FC fellas.
I'm the same way. My friends always get pissed off at me. Sometimes though i don't always get to accost the person though because my friends are like "dude just leave him alone its not htat big a deal" I usually blow them off but sometimes they are my ride so that doesnt really work. Although most of the rotary owners here i've met have been cool as hell. A guy i met with an FD stopped when i drove by him and started honking his horn until i pulled back and we started chatting. And another dude with an FC came down to the dyno when i had my car there because he wanted to meet another FC owner.

Maybe, but given the circumstances I don't think so. I mean, I'm not an intimidating person. I had three other people drooling at the car with me, complimenting it.

I recently purchased an FD, but I've been a fan of all rotaries for quite some time. Hell, a lot of my friends have or do own FC's and I love that car. They like my car too but I'm not going to let something like that go to my head. I'm always down for good coversation about the cars I love.

I'm upset that other FD owners act like that, I never realized it. I just want all you FC guys (Jims, etc) out there that not all of us portray the "*** hole" mentality.

I thought the same thing when I read that. I would never dare ask someone to let me drive their car. I wouldn't anyone drive mine that walked up and asked. Quite honestly there are only 2 people besides me that have driven my car.

My brother co drove it at Autocrosses w/ me. And I let Mazdadrifter co-drive it at an Autocross whne his was giving him problems.

I agree. There are alot of rednecks around here at the cruise spots. All of them are like "hey brotha, let me get a ride in that thing man!" I try not to be an *** but seldom give random people thrill rides

If they knew what the car was, and what it was powered by (besides a 4-cyl aha) I would be a little more recptive.
