/begin rant

So I went cruising with some friends tonight (S14 w/ SR20DET, A4 1.8T). We stopped at Starbucks to see what was going on and to get some caffeine.

Well, as we're sitting there in the parking lot, this FD pulls up and of course my jaw drops as drool proceeds to exit my mouth.

I walk up to the guy (who turns appears to be 16) as he's getting out of his car: "Hey man, can I take that thing for a ride?"

*******: "Yeah, right." ::turns to friends::

Me: "It's a very nice car."

*******: ::doesn't even acknowledge me::

WTF man? I'm so much more deserving of that car than him! What an ungreatful, disrespectful douchebag.

Another friend joins up later (he drives a Civic hatch w/ GSR swap) and I point at the FD. He's like "no way, that guy's a douchebag...and he can't drive, you could take him."

What a waste!

Yeah, see the kid sitting in the seat in this pic. See his white FD up on the lift in the background. He has a Pettit stage 1 on his FD. We pulled up at the same time and he was cold towards me. I complimented his FD and asked what was done. He acted like I was bothering him. I had to wait for Cameron for a few minutes and he walked away planted himself in that seat and sat talking to someone on his cell phone.

He glanced at my FC and smirked when he figured out it was mine.

The funny part was he was trying to not act suprised when Cam opened the hood. I saw you if your reading this. You thought in your head

My FD > His POS FC

Sorry to disapoint you. My FC > your FD any day of the week. Straight line or turns. Pick 'em.

This kids attitude is exactly why I do not want an FD. 75% of the people I meet casually (not on NP) that own them think they are a notch above everyone else.

You should see them at Autocrosses. They look at me like they feel sorry for me. Hardly saying more that 2 words to me when I approach them to compliment their car.

After we all run once guess who is walking over asking 100 questions?

see i dont get that. if i get my fd and people compliment me im going to say thank you and ask them things about their car. and if its rotary ill ask them even more and ask them to pop the hood. to me having a nice car means having a nice attitude to the attention it will get.

I've met plenty of ******* rotary guys, and plenty of really cool rotary guys. I was always thrilled to talk about my car to people when someone approached me. I rarely gave rides where I really opened it up though. Part of owning unique cars, wether they are fast or just eye candy sorta like my minis, is the attention they draw to spark conversation with people that are interested in the same sorta thing.

That's crappy. All the rotary owners I've met are really cool people. As with any car I were to own, even being something like a K Car or Yugo,if someone came up and started asking me about it,I would more than gladly talk about it and stuff. You never know, you can always learn something. However, let's not waste our time with the ones that think they are better than us. Let them be ********.
