Hi Isamu,

You live in marysville, are you a member of the Rotary rockets?

I just joined and hope to drive my car to meetings this spring/summer. I've still got to put the interior in it and a roll cage.(plus a lot of little things to make it 100% street/drivable.) I really need to get to work and put the 75lb lead bar in the front as even under half throttle the front end gets kind of light and raises up.

No, I am not a member of the Rotary Rockets, but I am subscribed on their mailing list. They seem to plan quite a bit of stuff like get togethers, and appearances in car shows. I know they reserved some spots for the apple blossom festival and parade, which I think would be pretty cool. One of these days we should have a nopistons.com get together. Maybe we can all meet at the Redhook brewery.

Yes, there does seem to be a lot of people on this site from the Pacific Nortwest. I've been to the new redhook brewery and its nice, but their beer is swill!(they have been bought out by a mega beer maker and changed the formula!) I make my own beer(and wine) and I remember when the redhook brewery was in an old automatic trans shop in Ballard, and the only way you could get bottles of it was to go to their shop.(did you know the bottles cost more than the beer inside!)(try Maritime Pacific beer, its what redhook wished it was!)

As to a meeting, I have a suggestion. On Aug. 11th here in Port Orchard, they have a thing called "The Cruz." They close down the downtown(next to the water), have live music in the streets, a beer garden, the resturants and bars sell stuff in the streets, theres a block of artsy/fartsy stuff for the wife/girlfriend(or both if you like to live on the edge!), have auto parts venders and best of all over 400 to 500+ cars! Its a real car-party and it seems to get bigger every year. At the end of the day they give out bunchs of trophys for all sorts of different types of cars.(The car club(The Saints) that puts it on has been around since the early 50s.)

I tried to have my car in it last year, but couldn't get the Haltech to inject fuel!!(I WILL be there this year!)

I just joined the Rotary Rockets and I'm trying to talk them into coming, but it would be great to see a whole section of rotary cars.

No, it was made by a company called kelmark(sometimes called mid-engineering). The kelmak was made from about '74 to around '85. I heard that ferrari put some legal pressure on them, but I don't know for sure. You could get it as a kit or already built. They came with VW(stock,100hp or around 125hp), Porsche, Corvair turbo spyder or early rotary engines. Mine came from the factory with a 150hp Corvair engine. I traded a '64 Corvair Spyder conv(only about 2400 made) that I was restoring, to a major corvair collector for it(it was love at first sight, after he showed me the Kelmark I couldn't trade fast enough!). He'd had it for 20 years, but really wanted the spyder! It looked good but the drive train needed help, so I did a two year body off resto with a TurboII installed. In the mid 70s rRoad & Track Mag. took a Kelmark to 202mph at the salt flats!!

Thanks Judge. I'm a little disappointed today. I was going to run my first autocross, but I ran into a overheating problem(engine in rear/radiator in front.) I've now taken the thermostat out and sent off for some more 11/2" stainless steel tubing to get rid of some overlong rubber hoses that had kinks in them and wouldn't let coolent flow enough. Hopefully this will get rid of my problem.
