Well I talked to the gentleman who owned my car before…not fun

This gentleman was a tool, who bragged to me about blowing up his Chevy truck engine, followed by his RX-7 Turbo II Rotary engine (The one I now own). When purchasing the vehicle I knew that the engine had gone and that it was replaced by Mazda Canada, who were nice enough to eat 40% of the cost (This he confirmed and I have the paper work from the Mazda dealership I bought it from). He then continued to tell me that my turbo will go soon, due to the fact that he blew up the engine with it on (You mean you didn’t take it off when you knew you’d blow the engine?). It’s been about 9,000 km since, the boost is perfect, no cracks on the housing and it doesn’t make any funny noises. His logic was that part of the apex seals should have gone through the turbo. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the seals are steel and if they hit a fully spooled turbo, it would destroy it (He mentioned it was fully spooled) no matter how small. He then mentioned that the car was only worth $2500 (Can), which he looked up in the Blue book. Hum, I did the same though the Black book and got $6400 (Can) for a beater Turbo II or $ 10,460 (Can) at another site (blue book). Mine has a new engine, low profile tires, alloys, tint, 10 disc CD changer, no rust, 53,000 km on the body, never winter driven, the original paint is **** and it purrs like a kitten (Aside from the TO bearing, which is getting fixed next week under warranty). I know I paid more then the car was worth ($16,995 Can my cost), but really it came down to the Turbo II, Eagle Talon Tsi AWD with 100,00K + or a two year old Neon. I love my car, it’s my baby and it will be babied even if I paid $2,000 too much. Plus the engine died with his shitting *** driving abilities and can now be treated with the respect it deserves. Have fun with the Talon buddy, do the math: timing belt snap = collision of piston = rebuild. From all I’ve ever heard an RX-7 is much more reliable then a Talon, I should know I almost bought one (Months of research).

The original owned was having a mid life crisis and I respect him for it, he respected the car…

End rant.

Does that mean that the seals just stayed in the housing?

Any hints on how to store my baby this winter?
