New Twins Installed And Having Some Minor Dificult
#1
I installed my new twin turbos yesterday...took me 12 hours...they have 10K mi on them and 3k mi on a fresh rebuild...they were in near perfect condition...and probly still are. I was checking under the car this evening for oil/coolant/etc. and noticed that the turbos were glowing...is this normal, or is one of my cooling lines blocked/clogged or something. I am also having serious boost creep...like im not even at WOT and im hitting 15 psi...I have stock ecu intake, downpipe, and cat back. if I went WOT, I could probly get more than 15 psi but I dont really want to do that, since fual cut is at ~ 14 psi. the boost creep creeps faster in the taller gears... havent noticed it in 1st, but 2nd-5th is a problem. I am thinking it could be a wastegate actuator or something of that nature, or maybe a loose hose/connection.
any help...thanks in advance,
Sean

LOL, you dont have anything wrong Deacon. Your just experiencing a good set of turbos.
Glowing is normal.
Boost creep is because your new turbos actually work good and are responding to your mods.
buy a boost controller.
I like turbosmart manual controllers. The work great and are cheap.

id say fuel managment should be ur next mod it would be a shame to lose ur motor along with those new shiny turbos when a chunk of ur blown apex seal crunched through the exaust turbing after leaning out and detonating. happy boosting though
until then id say u should get the boost controller like fd3boost said
