Yup. One of the neat things about alternating current (AC) is that it's easy to change voltage either up or down with transformers.
Maybe you can help me:

So, we have 3 transformers total (the 3 sets are not connected to each other). The first 2 I installed worked wonderfully. The third transformer melted all the damn wires in the housing. I thought the unit was messed up, so I replaced it. The second one did the same thing. The house wiring worked fine with the previous light fixture, so I can't guess what the problem is (plus I have limited knowledge, short besides how to install). And we're under the impression that the 3 units are connected on a circuit (the house wiring above the ceiling...no attic to check), so if the first 2 work, why wouldn't the 3rd?

stop hooking it up back asswards... Actually, pull the first 2 transformers, then install the 3rd and see if it melts the wiring again. may be a short after the transformer, or even one before that isn't apparent until the circut energizes.

I think I'm going to get an electrician to check it out, because it's going to get tough convincing Home Depot that all these units are malfunctioned, after a fry 3 in a row.
