ATM cards? Remember going to the bank on Friday and having to think about what you were gonna do that weekend and having enough money for the whole weekend then being broke on Sunday and not being able to go anywhere because you needed the last drops of gas in your tank to get to work and to the bank to get money out.
Gas being under $1 a gallon I remember 75 cents. I had a 68 Mustang that drank it.
My friend bought an old pickup truck with crank up windows a real plain jane truck. He kids were freaking out (they are 4, 5 and 8 y/o) because the truck did not have a remote to unlock the doors and the could not figure out how to roll down the windows, they couldn't find the button.
How about a work with Original Coca Cola not the Classic Coke that came out after they messed with the formula.
How about paying $4 to get into a movie and it was a theater with 400 seats and a balcony no multipex.
You waited all day in line to see Star Wars or Indian Jones then you would walk out afterwards and ruin the plot for the people in line to see the next show by talking about the movie as you walked past them.
Lines going around gas stations as gas approached $1 during the oil embargo in the early 70's I wwas a kid but remember it.
Seeing the first Honda CVCC and thinking it was so small but sorta cool. Having no idea it would be the most annoying car in the world leading the way for ricers everywhere. BTW - I drove an original CVCC and it had a 8K redline and would smoke the tires in 3 gears. I could never figure out what was up with the early ones but they tamed them a lot as time went on and the became Civics.
Sorry so long you really got me thinking SpecialT. Thanks it was fun!!
