I have a 1988 mazda RX-7 that my brother gave me after he blew the motor up and i decide that it would be cool to build a drag car out of it so we stripped it's gutts and build a 350 hp chevy V-8 and put in the car with a th-350 tran.
And we haven't lost one yet....
est. weight is around 1500lb wet weight full tank of gas..

Who the **** voted 350? Shoot him! j/k To each there own but the rotary is the soul of the RX7, without it, it becomes lifeless.
It may be cheaper to go fast with the 350 but why would you want to? You can't compete in any events with a 350 in it. Maybe your local dragstrip but, I don't know, I am just agianst it.

like lane change said the rotary is the heart and soul of the RX-7. It represents the only major and prolonged production of a rotary powered car. The engine is what makes it an RX-7. With a 350 in, it is just a 350 with a body around it not an RX-7. and anyone that thinks it is  to you and you know you want to kiss my rotary loveing ***.
