Well it may be a case of egg on the face for me, but after polishing the hell out of the wheels, I ended up repainting them in a matte black finish. The reason GM paints them, as I found out, the hard way, is they do a shitty job prepping the wheels before they are dipped in chrome. I swear I will never buy another GM product again...
