Pops Buys An Ssr...
#1
So my father buys an SSR on friday afternoon, drives the crap out of it in the rain all day, then throws me the keys and says "clean this piece of **** up and bring it into the office Monday morning and i'll trade back with ya", and proceeded to make off with my nice clean pick-up.
I couldn't just drive it home and clean it now, could I?
Of course not! Once I burned the clutch good and hard the thing shifted like a 390 horse 6 speed should, and the trans gears are nice and close together, almost not noticeable on the upshifts. Cornering was much nicer after the tire pressures came back down to earth, the right front was at 45PSI, everytime I stabbed the throttle into a hard left hander it just tried to plow right off the road. Nothing like the sensation of your ******* puckering up as you are sawing the wheel and stabbing at the gas in an unfamiliar ride, wOOt!
After I put it through the paces, from which I have still not wiped the **** eating grin off my face, it was time to clean the bitch up, following are a couple of snapshots after a through detail, enjoy.

At least it runs...
It is probably the ugliest looking retro ride I have ever seen, a 2005 version of a '49 pick-up, but it runs like a raped ape. After some suspension mods, lowering, some BFG's all the way around, and some tuning elements once the running gear is broke in it should run with and even out perform some of the better performance rides out there today.
