i believe it describes movement of the crank in a side-to-side motion that is over specifications for the block. the crank is allowed to move a good amount but some came out with huge amounts of play in the crank.
I always figured it was due to failure to set the thrust bearing but i never really got into it much. damn pistons.

like, if it revs too high?
Shush, I know 3 guys personally who have had crank walk issues in 2nd gens. First gens aren't so bad. Way more reliable.
Second gens are *****s, head gaskets, transfer cases, transmissions,
it never ends.
But really, pistons motors aren't that bad.
just new stuff for you to learn.

If you want a reliable daily driver buy an NA Toyota or Honda 4 banger. I have about 250,000 miles on my 87 Integra (original motor) with no mods, and I flog the crap out of it even with only 110HP. Regular oil changes, keep up on maintenance = zero problems so far. Still idles so well you can't even tell it's on sometimes.
Oh yeah, seriously!!!
If your looking for a nothing special nothing fancy car,
get a Toyota! I've had like 3! No problems, great cars!
I'm a little biased, I LOVE my Toyotas!
But that's just my 2cents.
