Where do you kids get these ignorant notions? Sheesh.

The Bible is not a translation of a translation or anything like if you belive that you're extreamly ignorant. Do some homework before you spew a bunch of ****.

The Bible you see today has jack **** to do with Rome and the catholics. The idea that catholics courrupted the bible is also extreamly stupid. Parts of the bible that we have predate the catholic church by a longshot so that drops that notion.

Further the manuscripts that we do have are all extreamly close together so and a lot of those vary in age by many centuries so that kills the idea that the Bible was changed a million times before we got it.

The idea that everything was changed before it was written down shows an utter ignorance of jewish culture and life. Again do your homework beore you spout crap and that means reading books other then the jackasses with PhD's after their names who get paid to pretend to be too smart to accept the plain truth.

Really you ought to get your facts straight before you start prattling off the same old bullshit about this and that not being accurate.

Sheesh.
this man is wise.

the bible was translated letter for letter, not random stories passed down word of mouth and ocassionally written down.

the dead see scrolls, which date back to 500 AD, match up exactly with what the current bible states. there has been no alteration from any church or other people.

it has been proven over and over again, the bible is the most accurate historical document to date.

the stories of jesus were recorded within 50 years of his death, if not earlier. legands could not have formed in this time. in the even that the "stories" were made up, people that saw the events could have shot down the stories, thereby ending the spread of chrisitianty.

if the stories in the bible were made up, then science, archeology, and history would have proven them false and the bible would be regarded in the same manner as homer's odessy.

Get my facts straight? Well fact is I was in Catholic school for 7 years, I have read the bible, Inferno, Purgatorio, Paridiso, and Paridise Lost. And when I did went to college I took courses in philosophy and sociology, so I have a pretty good grasp on Catholisism, and its use in society.

Just because I have a different opinion then yours dont assume I'm some uneducated *****.
catholicism has it's problems, just like every other christian institution made up of HUMAN SINNERS.

david killed a giant monster with a sling shot

thats not real!?!!?!?! HOLY ****!
you can kill someone with a hard enough blow to the temple.

by hitting someone in the sternum (center of the chest cavity), the zyphod process (spelling, i'm no doctor), can break off and puncture a lung or the heart, causing death.

killing someone with a rock slung at over 90 mph is quite possible.

according to history, david was a sheapherd, in charge of protecting his sheep. they had no guns, he has a sling, and was quite skilled with it.

teh death of the philistine is quite possible.

Fact? One supreme being created all of existence? There is nothing factual about that.

The bible is a collection of storys that are based on some truth that were passed down over time. Each person that reciteted the storys added in their own perspective and elements to make the story better and more interesting. Then they were written down and became the bible. Just because some of the storys were based on real events does not mean that the storys as they exist in the bible really happened exatcly as it is read.
the more we grow in scientific knowledge, the more we realize the earth did not happen by chance.

read steven hawkin's "a brief history of time" and c.s. lewis's "mere christianity".

oh, and i just saw it tonight.

i can assure you, mel gibson was not making this movie to make money. anyone wanting to make money would not have quoted the bible so directly and made a movie which was so truthful and so exact in reference to the bible.

they would have "cleaned it up" to appeal to a larger audience.

this was a risk he took, a personal sacrifice and offering of $30 million to do teh Lords will.

now, if he keeps all the profit and laughs to the bank, that will be another story...

THIS MOVIE WAS THE MOST AMAZING, MOST MOVING PICTURE I'VE EVER SEEN.

WHEN JESUS WAS WHIPPED, I CRIED. WHEN HE WAS NAILED TO THE CROSS, I CRIED.

I REALIZED THAT ALL MY SIN FOR THE SAKE OF "FUN" IS WORTHLESS, IT'S PATHETIC.

OUR LIVES WERE MEANT TO HAVE MEANING, I CAN ONLY PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL SHOW ME AND LEAD ME TO MY MEANING.

Catholisism does not equal christianity. They're not always the same thing and the idea that Catholics speak for Christianity is foolish. Again the idea that the pope and the vatican affected the bible is bluntly dumb.
