mike you have a very strong point....youre religious or brought up like it so you obvisouly have a different view

to me the whole thing is just a big book of short stories .. sure some of them are historically documented and parts are real.....people were most likely real and **** like that.... but its still all a story to me....
Yeah, there may have been some true stories, but most are false.

it would have taken 7 times the worlds supply or water to flood the earth! (old testimate?) noah's ark is some BS i tell you!!

but truth lasts until eternity.

religions of God = bad and only temporary.

relationship with God = good and eternal.

big differences.

The whole concept of religion and god(s) started as a way for people to be more comfortable with death. It gave people the belief that if they acted a certain way they would be rewarded or punished upon death for their actions during their life.

All religions are based on relationships with their respective god or gods. So a relationship with any god is not nessacerily good.

NOT just a story. it's fact, whether you dismiss it or not. the bible has been proven with more external sources and archeological finds than any other historcal event.

there are more supplemental documents supporting the bible than any of the past greek philosophers, history that is tought in school as fact.

example: josephefus. he never wrote anything in the bible, but has numerous articles supporting events in teh bible from over 2000 years ago.

the bible was written by tax collectors and historians, not religious zealots out to promote some trivial cause.

Fact? One supreme being created all of existence? There is nothing factual about that.

The bible is a collection of storys that are based on some truth that were passed down over time. Each person that reciteted the storys added in their own perspective and elements to make the story better and more interesting. Then they were written down and became the bible. Just because some of the storys were based on real events does not mean that the storys as they exist in the bible really happened exatcly as it is read.

my standpoint on religion is like my girlfriends menstral cycle... never predictable and a lot of ups and downs

i havnt seen the movie but ive recently been gettin interested in theology 3300 and this bible stuff is ALWAYS a huge contraversy. its like every time a movie or a statement hits public that doesnt make religion seem all fluffy and nice where everyone is going to heaven god fogives all blah blah... as soon as moms see something dark or dismal about their religion the **** hits the eternal fan.

i hear this movie is taking the attention from the oscars and it wont be nomonated till next year so voting this year is fucked and it wont be nominated by the time next year rolld around. i got a feeling that was a modest move of gibson to try and NOT win awards.... jsut my idea

not to start **** but i had the same idea a while ago too. the fact is thats not totaly accurate.

vatican II may say that to be true but vatican II is the problem. decisions are made by roman bishops who are HEAVILY influenced by the times and society.

read the bible or at least parts and see what rome has done to it. what the public understands today as the bible, has manipulated for social acceptance through generations of popes(haha that word looks funny.. eh hem) and meetings like trent, vatican 1 and 2 etc...

im not a god freak im pretty casual when it comes to this stuff but reading parts of the bible can really slap u in the face

The bible doesn't say that the entire earth was flooded.

Perhaps you ought to check your facts before you start yabbering.
