unless your doing 9's and lower you really don't need anything more than 100oct. fuel. (which is the highest octaine rating) If any are wondering why I might know this its becaues my job for the army is POL/fuel section.
Theres a broad range of leaded aircraft fuel. The purple warbird juice your talking about is hard to find. 100LL and 110LL are much more common. And general aviation aircraft dont run it for crazy high compression ratios and boost. The vast majority of general aviation piston engines have a CR around 7-8:1.

very true mazdaspeed...but still the overall point is leaded fuel is not a good idea.

I guess me and Turbo Mark need to use it less. We get the General av gas for Cessna and Comanche plane. What's that a high compression 350?

it would be useful if we new how much of that to put with the 94 octane per gal.

for track use rather than a full tank.

Its got either a lycoming or a continental, and the compression ratio is quite low compared to what we see in cars. 7-8:1 is the norm.
