WHOA, DO NOT PUT JET A in your tank, it's ******* kerosene you might as well set the ******* engine on fire and walk away. Jet A fuel and Diesel are very similar, we used to run the Jet A in the diesel trucks, but it emits some high levels of pollution so the EPA got pissed. Also if you wanna talk about low octane, Jet A octane level is something like 30 LOL, like I said, it's Kerosene.

As far as LL goes, I'd be careful, I know a lot of guys who used to run it in older cars, newer cars with higher temps seem to have issues with the low lead, something with lead deposits on the valves, now I dunno what it would to do a rotary. Get unleaded, yes av gas has been stable and cheaper and guess what.... it's better gas! It's more pure and has to meet more strict guidelines. BTW, 100 octane LL still has more lead then the leaded gas we used to pump into our cars at the gas station.

Cliff notes:

Jet A = Kerosene = Diesel = non-running rx-7

In fact you probably couldn't even get your car to ignite Jet A.

100 LL = It's your choice, I wouldn't run LL as I wouldn't want to risk potential lead deposits tons of people do and short term have no issues, I don't know anyone who has been running LL in a newer car for a long time, I was just told when I was in A&P school that the higher heat modern engines collect lead deposits around the valves when they use LL

A quick internet search indicates that both O2 sensor and catylitic converter are quickly hosed when running low lead, I also found some mention of lead deposits in the combustion area (might mean valves?)

In the 60's when they were running leaded auto in all the cars they weren't running the internal temps that we do now. When you add in the emissions crap and consider that we're now getting similar hp's in half the engine which ='s increased temps I don't think I'd risk it

Oh and just for you banzai...

Jet A in Diesel = LOL

Like I said before we used to drain it out of the planes when they came in and use it in out tugs and ground equip, the EPA came in one day and ripped us a new one, they made us stop doing that and got pissed about a few other things LOL

Using leaded ACFT fuel is a bad idea, you can do it but its a bad idea...the stuff is 120+preformance gas (purple in color) your car can not burn it all and you will make less power. Jet A in just diesel (kerosene with additives, well both have additives thats what seperates diesel from jet fuel. specific gravity is very close on both)

Running leaded fuel 100oct. is ok BUT, only once in a while (2 times a month at track, and not all leaded fuel) if you continue to use leaded fuel and you will have to change your fuel filter change cats (if you have them) clean out combustion area of engine (lead deposits) if used long enough you will need to change you fuel lines and flush your fuel tank.

Like I said before...the ACFT fuel is used for high compression acft engines many of which are also turbo or supercharged making much more power than cars. I could get AVGAS very easly but that stuff is best left for ACFT.

unless your doing 9's and lower you really don't need anything more than 100oct. fuel. (which is the highest octaine rating) If any are wondering why I might know this its becaues my job for the army is POL/fuel section.
