ask him if he wants to go fast or look good...if he says fast tell him to dump the honda for anything else and start over.. now if he says look good tell him to start with a good sound system...and try to drop cash amounts to try and push the idea out of his head.

first thing you need to have an intervention with him and explain that hondas suck. then tell him that exterior interior mods suck. then tell him to get a first gen 7, they are relatively cheap. its all about rear wheel drive. help your man out. just like dramon said nopistons changed his life. your buddy will almost be like a born again christain(sorry if i affend any christians) explain to him how honda ricers get ragged on every minute of every day by everyone that doesnt drive a riced out honda. you have to have a lot of money and a lot of know how to have an acceptable honda/acura. he will understand that it is not possible with his income right now (hopefully) and come back over to the smart side. i mean, friends dont let friends drive p.o.s. hondas. its all common sense. and if he doesnt get it then blaze a big bowl of dank with him then explain it and he will think about it for a few hours and put his car on ebay. its the least you can do.

my best friend has a four door accord, and he has done some mods. he has a full black widow kit, a jdm H22A, a drag turbo kit, and 18in rims. when it gets painted it is going to look really good, and it's fast. there are no gay stickers, and he didn't go with altezza's. there are many other options for taillights, especially with the accord. honda's don't suck, i have another friend that has a civic hatch with a fully built b18. when he finishes tunning the fuel he should be running around high 12's.....N/A. the best thing to do is just let the kid know that if you do things half assed everyone driving down the road WILL notice how shitty it looks. tell him that the way he feels about a neon driving down the road with a bunch of stickers and a fart can is just how everyone else sees his car.

Yeah, I'll try bring all this up, thnx for all the advice. He doesn't have the $$ or know-how to ever do all those things to his car... I think deep down he knows the truth, but since he has no other choice (he seems determined to do something) he chooses the racer path. I believe I work with him tonite, so I'll definitely bring all this up. I hope he doesn't (but have a feeling he will) ignore me & continue along with his ricer plans.
*On a side-note, I have another co-worker that I failed with, who bought an $80 crush-bent universal exhaust & $300 wing for his Lancer. Recently he got in an accident, so now he has no $$ to fix it.

Yeah, nothing wrong with Hondas, just lots of things wrong with ricers. I know, I have trouble getting away from the stereotype as well, but there are a few good car guys driving nice Hondas. I know a kid with a 12s 5th gen Prelude, no weight reduction at all; still has a/c, emissions, p/s, rear seats, nice stereo, carpeting, you know, all the stuff we like to rip outta our FC's. And of course, it's got a real nice turbo set-up to help it get on the other end of a 1/4 mile in 12 seconds. Only exterior mods are a nice set of white 17" Kosei's.
And I'm personally proud to say that through my (and my car's) influence and by my (and my car's) influence only, I have pulled what was once a Honda ricer from the dark side and brought him into the light. His Honda is a '95 Civic EX 4-door automatic with Altezza's, strobes, neons, ricey **** and crappy painted interior trim, but now he's taken off all of the extra-tacky ricer stuff (still has Altezzas, oh well), and he's taking a loan out to buy a B16A w/ manual tranny and a bunch of internals and he's actually gonna sit in his basement and rebuild his motor, and swap it in.
So it is possible, folks. I'm not saying every ricer out there is redeemable, but I believe it is our duty to do what we can, when we can.
