Um, yeah they will. they kill the infection. I still don't take them unless I absolutely have to though. My theory is that if you always take them, your body's immune system never gets a chance to build up, and thats why people get sick so often now. I hate taking medicine.

I know that, that's why I ended with "first." I had many, many ear infections as a child, and several as an adult. I found what helps the most (for me, anyway) is keeping the eustachian tube clear in the first place.
