Ouch.... sorry to hear it, and I would say the $15K estimate looks about right... Gotta remember estimates are RETAIL prices with LABOR included... I garuantee you could probably get it back on ther road for HALF that easily though.
What killed you is it wasnt a full frontal impart and that cornet took ALL the force.... You are sometimes better off turning into and nailing someone then turning away and just clipping (although if you turn into them it can look more like your fault, so that is strictly going on a "trying to repair yourself for the least amount" theory)..
Was the 35 what you estimate IMPACT at??? Or is that how fast you were going???
