My Fd Is Fucked!
I looked at the pic's of the accident and I don't see a stop sign at the intersection. I don't know about NJ state highway codes, but most states require stop signs where a side street intersects an arterial road. I would check with the road dept.(they useually have copies of the codes at their office) and the local law library (nearest court house.) The state/city/county might be at fault for not having a stop sign.(this would help when you go before a judge.) Make sure you get a pic of the closest speed sign and how far it is from the accident to also show the judge. Mark the back of all photos with time, angle taken from (example; taken from NW corner facing south.) When you go to court a large diagram of the accident with numbers on it showing where the photos were taken from would be helpful. Does the other driver have a record and/or record of tickets, drunk driving, driving while under the influance of drugs, speeding, etc.
By the look of the skid marks, the cop is out of his mind with the statement he/she made and a halfway good attorney will rip him/her a new a**hole. Did the cop issue any tickets, if so for what, if not why not? Did the cop administer breath tests, if so what were the results, if not why didn't he do so as in almost all accidents it is standard operating proceedure and/or state law to do so.(if he/she didn't do so, ask his supervisor/chief of police why this wasn't done!) Did the cop call the paramedics to look you over or ask if you would like the paramedics to look you over, or did he make a judement call and guess that you were alright.(very bad call on his part as he and his department can be held responsable if later you have problems.)
The more legwork and evidence you can make/produce before you give this to an attorney will make it less costly to you as the attorney will have a para-legal do all of the research/legwork and charge you attorney fees(they will never charge you at the lower para-legal rates!)
As I said before Nolo press(web site) has a lot of good info and books for sale on the subject of going to court and dealing with attorney's and judges. Attorney's and the Bar association have tried to shut them down in the past so ordinary people can't find out attorney's secrets and thus save money.

Good to see that you are okay.
Here is the NJ DMV driver's manual.

I tried to find information specifically for you, but unfortunately, the laws are not too specific about negotiating turns. My understand, is that ANYONE negotiating a turn, has to yield to other drivers w/ the right of way.
Good luck.

I was serious about that right of way comment. Throw that out if need be.. then see if his insurance company is a little more willing to cooperate.
Edit: Wait.. is NJ a "no fault" state? I hope not for your sake.

it doesn't matter there is still fault, i have the police report saying he did something. the only thing he put about mine is that it appears i was speeding yet there are no witness and only my skidmarks
