Yeah it really does blow allthough there are those savings accounts IF you can get ahead.

In Canada you pay nothing and get what you pay for. Huge lines and not the best service....becuase they'd rather work here and make millions.

That being said something needs to be done but lord knows what.

I actually don't have any complaints.

Obviously, the guy having a heart attack gets priority over me with a sprained ankle.

But, I've never had a problem with that!

Sure it's not perfect. But I'm not having to consider selling a car to take care of a family member!

So, our doctors are in the business cause they care about people, not money.

And the problem there is what?

But I guess since you live here . . you'd know?!?!

try this **** out. I had a friend move a bike of mine to a house I was moving into. well long story short he crashed it bad. he was in the hospital just over a month. he was in intensive care and all that, including a drug induced coma. longer story shorter...when he got out his bill was around 850,000. He had a few complications from the accident that wernt discovered right away. Now the fun the army guard was going to cover it because he was on orders but they did something to screw him out of coverage. Medical destroyed him just to save him. I would just rather have my plug pulled.

That's what I'm saying!

When you'd consider letting a life go, because you know the financial burden will make you want to die!

It's crazy! When you actually put a price tag on someone living or dying!

So what's the deal then? Since he obviously doesn't have the $850,000???

the dude skipped town, was medically discharged form army guard for one of the complications discovered after acciednt. Never paid me a dime for my bike, or tried to make reperations. I think he filed bankrupsy (did I spell that right?) last I herd he was living in Arizona somewhere.

Well we finally got denied for any possibility of help on Amy's visit to the hospital, bills are sitting under $7,000 right now and we are working on establishing a payment plan with them. We got all the dr's paid off, we just owe the money to the hospital itself.

Thought I would give ya an update since it's been so long for all of this to get figured out.
I feel your pain man. I was hit head on by a DD a couple years ago, ****** was driving a un-registered and unlicensed vehicle. He simply ran, and got away w/ it. To top it all off, I was driving my FD, which i could only afford liability on. Long story short, Im out one FD, and my parents ended up helping me out and paying much of the hospital bills.

I feel your pain. I have had 3 MRI's in the past 3 weeks, 1 session of nerve testing and the fun has just started. God only knows what they have up their sleeves for my back, but I schedule rotator cuff repair surgery next week .

Seems like the insurance companies and the doctors have a neat little plan worked out.
It may seem that way, but it isn't. My father has had a private practice which is now about to enter its fourth year. He is getting screwed by the insurance companies just as much, if not more than patients who are insurance-dependent. While his patients may struggle for the $200 x-ray cost without insurance, they did not have to pay $10K for the machine that took them, and only receive a payment from insurance for about $40 for the x-rays from the insurance company. While they may lose an afternoons pay to come into the office during regular work hours, they still are not paying a quarter of a million dollars in medical school student loans...

About 60% of profit gains are lost in insurance exchanges. It seems like the insurance companies have a neat little plan worked out to screw everybody but themselves. Hey, if there is somebody on the forums that works for one--I'd love to be proven wrong here.

I serisouly can't stand this ****. Hospitals and doctors claim that they took an oath and that they base their work on ethics but where are those ethics after they get you well. It seems that everything now a days is about money.
I watched my father take that oath. He is also one of the most ethical peole I know. Aside from that, being a pre-med major: What you said pisses me off.

Check into paying $1.00 per month. I've heard you're untouchable so long as you are paying something.
