If you can get through an engineering curriculum with a B.S., you've got my respect. I started in E.E., ended up with a degree in Business Finance. In engineering, they actually expect you to do work outside of class! A freaking ton of it! The heck with that. I didn't have time for it, what with all the drinking and general hell raising.

In all seriousness though, be prepared for a load of work. Smarts alone won't carry you.

You are totally correct. There is no way to get an engineering degree without a lot of discipline and commitment. The thing I see in all the kids at school is that they don't accept this fact and seem to believe that college is just one big party. If seen that way, it is a very EXPENSIVE party and a waste of your early 20's. I wasted this time of my life working dead end jobs; college is my new job and it's all about the degree, nothing else.

Glad to hear that you're going to make it, RX7aggie. Few students make it to the very end . . .

i'm in my 4th year of a 4 year program.

Engineering physics, i thought i liked math, i thought i liked physics... Not after this program.

7 more months and hte job prospects aren't looking so good. You would think with 30,000+ dollars invested i would have companies begging me to work for them. Instead i face a mountain of a loan to pay back and companies telling me to go **** myself.

I was at Penn State last year for electrical engineering, but decided to come to RIT this year cause my dad is a professor here and I get to come here for FREE. Its one of the top engineering schools in the country

AND I got a 3rd gen RX7 for comin here! Def worth it.

anyway, i'm in my 2nd year, but really am a 3rd year student if u go by the classes i've taken. Its a five year program, hopefully i can get out in 4 1/2 yrs. The good thing is there are 3 mandatory co-ops, so i'll be makin round 7 grand 3 times starting next summer.

fsae eh, i just joined that. i am on the drivetrain team though. it seems like a lot of fun

and cheers, you don't like engineering phys? i am seriously considering to try and get into that. what do you do? just math and physics???

engineering is all love of science, like most other real science programs.

if you don't love it, you won't finish, its as simple as that.
