no not at all. they knew exactly what was going on. the financial industry has known about FMN/FMAC for YEARS. they people who run these things had plenty of time to fix the problem, but they decided, as usual to keep making a quick buck.

I really dont feel sorry for anyone who lost money in FRE and FNM, if you could read a balance sheet it wouldn't take much to figure out they were way over leveraged and headed for big problems.

Wow, you guys all make me very happy I'm a Canadian. Hell, we've had candidates for prime minister who were deemed less worthy of the position once the spotlight was directed to the fact they were religious. And when we do vote someone in, they lower our taxes dramatically within a couple years...just like it was promised during the campaigning!
Still, I do wish that someone high-profile would run for president in the US who wasn't a nut job.
