I can beyond a shadow of a doubt promise you that McCain will have his Friedmanite Chicago School of Economics boys standing by and they will call for the EXACT opposite of gradual adjustments to the economy, they will call for "shock treatment", just ask Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Poland..... the list goes on. What little McCain does know or rather rambles on about when asked about the economy is strait from the Milton Friedman playbook, if you believe in laissez-faire then McCain is your man. America is full of this "im going to get mine before you get yours" attitude, or every man for himself. That's just fine if that is your philosophy, however to say that John McCain or Barack Obama is "better" for the UNITED states of America is complete rubbish, both are great for a very limited few and toxic for the majority. With both the middle of the pack will suffer and I'm happy for those who end up being the beneficiary of the candidates favor, but again, this will not be for the majority. If you are supporting one of them, don't bullshit me and try to tell me "he's the best for the nation" or even "he's the lesser of two evils" admit you are supporting that candidate because they are the best for YOU, because neither is good for the majority. (this again is not directed at anyone specifically, please don't take it personally).

PS, here's a hint the "New Deal" effectively redistributed americas wealth, which at that time I think 3% of the richest americans had more money then the remaining 97% combined..... wonder how that ratio is now?

(BTW - since you think you know me well you do not I do not go to church anymore and I do not consider myself religious) No one person is going to change the abortion laws in America. I can never understand how this becomes such a huge issue every 4 years then goes back away.

Sorry just re-read this and realized I hadn't mentioned it. I think i've been very careful not to make this personal, in fact for the majority of this post I was addressing 1988RedT2, he and I are more then capable of taking what eachother can dish out, I'm sorry if you took offense to it. This thread is not about "you" or "i" or "me", if you are taking personal, then I will continue to make an effort not to respond to your posts, feel free to tell me to "back off" Furthermore I NEVER claimed, nor have I ever claimed in the past to "know" you or even know what your about, to be perfectly honest I could care less when it comes to discussion at hand. If you think the religion comments were aimed at you then I am sorry, you were in fact wrong, if they upset you GOOD, that's why I posted it to get people's attention. If we all sat around here agreeing with eachother we'd never solve any issues and we'd never have any discussions worth a ****. Only within the last couple posts have I began to wonder exactly what your grasp on the state of the economy is, I'm sorry if those questions upset you, I'm happy if they made someone think and I'm even happier if someone went to the effort to answer them.

Its too bad Ron Paul's campaign never grew legs.

I strongly disagree with this statement, this logic is the status quo here, we shrug our shoulders and say "there's nothing I can do about it" and we vote for a dem or a rep, this is merely playing into their hands and it's disgraceful. The Ron Paul movement is still in motion and he will be on the ballot, I encourage everyone to find an alternative candidate that lines up with their views and vote for that person, it's time to send a message that the two party corporate picked system is on it's way out and we want something different.

Oh and for the record, fannie and freddie should go bankrupt, there is no excuse for the taxpayers bailing out investors who can't read a ******* balance sheet, it amounts to Socialism for the rich, it's fine if we bail out rich folks on the tax payers dime, but it's the end of the world if we spend the money providing education or healthcare.

I'm so poor I shouldn't even be allowed to vote, so I dunno why I am talking about this. They should take away my voters registration card.
