oh ive foudn fcs for less than 2k. but not a turbo model. u think u could help me find one in the new england area? (i think u must be out west or something.

yeah there arent many in NE, you have to go west and or south

LMAO.

I read this:

"i want to drift, so i want to make some power, heres what i plan on doing"

and then stopped reading.

The reason, originally, thta drifting got popular was that you can do it with any type of automobile, and in fact as a firsttime drifter, which im assuming you are, everyone and there mom will tell you its better to start with a low power car.

Also, "make some power" and "n/a rx7" never go together... like ever. unless you mean like power to your subs or something.

kevin.

only n/a power you would care about is a peri-port motor, and even then it's just easier to go with something that is turbo originally.

i missed that! drifing's 90% technique, i mean the hatchi is so slow it makes the na FC look fast

Leetheslacker 05-09-2008 04:52 PM

seriously.

when you are a beginning drifter, the faster your car is just the faster you're going to put it into a wall because you have no idea whats going on and it gets away from you.

whatever you get, start out with a seat, diff, and suspension. thats all you need to learn and you can move up to big boy power when you figure out how to use it.

NA fc will force you to learn how to drive it right. its a tough bitch.

turbo fc is slightly easier cause the powers there but fc's are still pretty twitchy by nature so again it forces you to learn how to drive it right.

240's are cake. so easy. torque is there, long wheelbase, great stock steering angle. and theyre a dime a dozen when you do **** something up.

honestly, you have too many plans. go out, test drive a 240, test drive a fc. pick whichever you like better.

then apply the basic diff, seat and coilovers, and then drive it. from there, start planning on what else you want to modify to make the car how you want it.

That is true... a friend of mine had an AE86... he let me drive it ONCE... and never again... every time we turned I got it sideways. Drifting is a pointless motorsport, it is all based on judges... but it's fun as hell to do.

So yeah. Came back to this thread. Realized that my reply should have had this in it, which was basically said by others, but...

If this is your first time, seriously. Low power car, start small, and learn to respect it. You'd really hate to have to do all that work to your dream 240 and then put it into the wall on the first corner.

to answer everyone saying that i should start out basic...thats what i planned. you dont think i could come up with enough money for all that **** right now do you?? haha im 16 right now. thats what i would do.

thanks for the help though. the 240 seems more versatile for drifting and i think i might switch to an fc later when i have money to invest in one.

but no thanks for the drifting is dumb comments. thats your opinion. lets not get into that argument.
