Just the other night I was doing some work for my friends helping them out with there buisness. They asked me if I knew any performance parts that they could make for the RX-7. There goal is to make quality parts cheeper than you could buy them elswhare. The only thing I had in mind was a short through shifter. They said they would make one for my car, and it would cost about $80 for you guys to buy it directly from them. The reason I poasted is to ask all of you what you want. They are set up as a machine shop. altho they are getting in to roll cage building and other stuff too. So tell me what you're ideas are and visit there site to get a better idea of who they are. Edit: fixed your link

Once I get my tranny rebuilt, I'd be interested in a short throw shifter.

What makes a short throw shifter shorter? Is it just a shortened stock shifter or does it really shorten the throws some other way? Cuz i could cut my shifter myself....

The shifter is built into the transmition, not like the hondas or other front whele drive cars. There is the part you grab, the part that selects the gears, and the part that pivites. The part you mess with is the gear selector, make it longer. with that in mind we also make a new tower that holdes the shifter in place. Other wise the shifter would be too long to fit in the trans. We are working on one for my car, it is going to be made out of stainless steel and tig welded togher for strainth. When we are finished that is what you would get. What we do is unlike other places, if you buy one and for some reason it don't fit right or work as expected we would do a little more R&D to make it better and swap you for a shifter that is right. I was reading about a shifter that rattles when it is installed and they had no idea how to make it stop. That's what i'm talking about, we'll fix it. I'll keep you up to date on the shifter, what i'm really looking for is more stuff we could build. We are looking to build stuff that would improve in a racing enviroment such as the scca, we don't want any (BLING BLING) parts. You won't find us making any neon light brackets or boom boom boxes. Not even a spoiler because all they do is add weight and slow the car down. We proved that the scoop on the subie 2.5 rs slowes the car down 1/10 of a sec on the track. We want to know what we can make cheaper that would make the car go fast.

That's something we will look into. There's a process that's called cryo treating "i think" that hardens the metal to with stand the torque that happens back there. I have a 2nd gen so what ever we build we would have to get a experemental car to work with. So phar we have taken my car apart a couple times. We are close to KD Rotary, maby they might have an extra rear section we could experment with. I'll keep you poasted!!

If we made something like that it would be made out of sheet aluminum and welded togher. It would be a waste to make a billet part like that.
