Revvin, your thinking right, buy the better bike and practice self control, I started out with the ZX-11, it was actually good becuse the bike scared the **** out of me when I first got it, once the bike hit 1000 miles, I got on it, and I think I may have **** myself. As long as you have respect for yourself and the speed of the bike, there is no reason not to get the better bike NOW. With the re-sale value of bikes once you buy them new, I cant see who CAN afford to buy a slower bike then sell it. I only practiced for like 3 weeks on a old Honda that my friends traded around with each other just to try riding and to get a feel for it, but I NEVER would have bought a different bike first.
good to hear. Besides if i don't get this bike, i will be getting some nice tasty mods to my 7 like maybe a t-88? :smirk:

So you believe of getting a bike you've never ridden before.... don't know much about bikes, etc.. is a good idea? yeah, okay. Go on oneof the motorcycle forums, and ask them about it. They'll say pretty much what I'm telling you.

But whatever floats your boat. I'm just telling you getting a faster bike, when it's your first time on one is pretty stupid.

If you were to ask the people who DIDNT buy a **** bike to begin with, they will tell you they were fine. You have your opinion based on?

Its all in the rider, if he has no self control, it doesnt matter what bike he is on, he will hurt himself. I guess I also was "stupid" for getting a fast bike as my first bike? He says he has rode his dads bike, thats enough practice in my book.

Ah to hell with it, I know I wouldnt let someone on a message board make my decision for me, he will do what he wants to do!

Um...... A **** BIKE?????

Excuse me, a SV650 is NOT A **** BIKE you well put it. Where are you getting this information? Because it isn't as fast as you'd like it to be? Because it won't kill you in a instant? Because you believe what everyone else says , and think "oh, because they say it's a **** bike, I guess it is?"

Yeah... well just because he rode his dad's bike doesn't mean he's "experienced" enough to hope on a more torquey bike. I am giving a reasoning suggestion... a bike that you will get tought on a lot more than a speeder to kill yourself with.

When did I say "you won't get killed on other bikes but only fast ones" I never said that, but most accidents involve inexperienced riders on fast bikes.

I am giving a suggestion, liven up a little and realize that.

You seem to start **** with everyone, esp. with 7Sweety.

I didnt mean **** bike in reference to the SV650, what are you talking about? Im saying he should just buy the bike he wants to buy, sorry if its isnt the bike YOU want him to buy, lol. And I havent started **** WITH NO ONE the whole time Ive been on this board, questioning her pics is hardly starting ****. HOW THE DO YOU FIGURE I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOU?? I answered your exaust post didnt I? You read what you want I guess, because I said that no matter what people whom he doesnt know from a message board say, he will do what he wants. YOU seem to have some sort of problem with me, and quite frankly, its getting boring, so go hump someone else's leg ok? I wont even respond to anything further posted here, so dont waste your time or anyone else on this board.

If you let people from a message board who you dont even know bother you THAT much, you should seek some medical help.

I didn't say he had to buy a sv650, more or less, I said it was just a good bike to "learn" on. But I guess now adays in this generation of kids, we gotta learn on the fastest bike out there huh?

I didn't say you had a problem with me *shrugs* I said you seem to be repetitive(is that the word I'm looking for?) against anyone who gives a bit of decent advise of an importance to someone's well-being.

Me? Bothered? haha.. I'm really bothered. Right.

I am giving him some good advise that getting a fast bike for starters is very well stupid. You're over reading this.

You guys need to go out and RIDE (if you have a bike) or drive and calm down.

GET THE BIKE YOU WANT!

I started on a YZF600 and wrecked it. Not bad but enought to total it ( good thing for that insurance others are saying not to get) My next bike a

99 ZX-9R Blue. It was WAY TOO much bike for me but I loved the color so I got it. I still LOVE it. And the bike doesn't matter if you go down. They all go fast enough to kill you or you could be hit standing still. Get a bike that FITS you and will suit you riding. If you find a great salesman at a shop that has more than one brand they could help you pick. Don't get anything smaller than a 600 or you will get bored.

Have fun and ride safe

yeah, they are donkey bikes. i know three people who owned them, all sold them within six months.

for a first bike, a zx6r or a cbr 600 is a great deal. you can get one for around 2g, and if you lay it down, who cares! and after you ride it for a year, you can make almost all of your money back when you sell it, and have a nice bit of cash for a down payment on a R6 or a GSXR 750
