I leave for the military (Army) in a couple weeks and I'm going in as an E-3. But I cant help asking what is a GS-12?

Almost an O-5 equivelant. As far as the GS ranking goes... (GS = Government Service) Federal Employee.



Going in as an E-3 is good. You'll be in charge all the damn time in Basic and AIT so be prepared..

Yeah Im happy w/ that. Im an 11x with option40. So I better be prepared for a little bit of ****(to say the least).

Just a guess, but im sure the DI's are gonna know. And if they dont, why in gods name would you not wanna be platoon leader and what not?? Id rather be in a position of authority and have a DI bust my *** than be the company bitch....
