How Much Hp Would You
I always thought that swap resembled someone who was too stubborn to figure out how to tune a rotary. Usually old people and rednecks. You can get 350 rwhp out of a rotary and as long as you know how to tune it, it will last a very long time, and you don't even have to do a swap. If you want to swap for bigger and better go w/ a 3 rotor.
I like the feel of the rotary too, just something about a high reving motor that makes it really feel like a sports car. You can keep her in that lower gear from curve to curve taching her out, and know that, that is what the motor is made for. Not to mention that it makes the car very unique.
BTW the engine is the feel of the acceloration, the balance of weight, the audio enhancement, the reliability the maintenance. The motor is the soul of a car. You wouldn't look differently at a corvette if it had a 1.5 liter honda motor in it?

WTF is the "soul of a car"? since when has it been the damn engine? the "soul" of any car is the person behind the wheel that puts their time, money, sweat, and blood into building their car into something that makes them happy. it isn't some engine design that some people think makes them unique. it isn't a paint job that always catches peoples eyes. as a group of people we need to realize that the only thing we really have is a different design.....NOT a better one. if you base all your beleifs on a car on what the manufacturer put in there to begin with.....then why are you even modding in the first place?

I would just like to state that I completely disagree with your entire post.
even if we go by your previous post we see interesting quagmires:
"You can keep her in that lower gear from curve to curve taching her out"
"just something about a high reving motor that makes it really feel like a sports car"
so because a vette doesn't have a motor that revs to 8k it isn't a sports car and isn't powerful on a road course?
"the engine is the feel of the acceloration, the balance of weight, the audio enhancement, the reliability the maintenance. The motor is the soul of a car"
it was already explained that with the V8 swap acceleration is greatly increased, a v8 rumbling is beautiful to anyone, and lets face it reliability is better on a V8 running 10's than a rotary. so if we go by your posts we would probably have to say that the soul got better.....
My girl was taking a human sexuality class and learned of a man who had his ***** replaced with a vagina and had breasts installed. Sure enough, he/she dating was accelerated, increased reliablity in womens bathrooms, got to wear all new types of running gear.
Point is, just because it's a modification, don't make it right.
Anyone can do what they want to themselves, their car, etc. Just don't expect us to like it.
Convincing me that a V8 in an FD is better than my Rotary would be almost as hard as convincing me that I need a vagina.
