I've a 1st gen, but it's a GSL-Se with the factory 13B. Mods so far include complete RB exhaust (header, presilencer, powerpulse muffler), RB enhanced & adjustable swaybars, poly bushings, and K&N intake filter. Other than that, sh'es so stock she still uses the factory battery to start.
Possibly a different league than what you guys are discussing, as mine's a daily driver not a hardcore racer, but a 1st gen nonetheless

Hey Jims5543, that wide body gen 1 one there, is that a off the shelf kit or is it a custom job?? Just curious as my '79 is off the road at the moment[ that damn piston god breaking the apex seals!] and I was considering something radical like that. Over here there's nothing really at all like that, a few basic bolt on kits but really there're just a couple of flares and spoilers - quite bloody boring!

I'll find out about the body kit.
As far as the engine it is a 90 Turbo II motor from japan it came complete with the tranny ECU and wiring harness. It cost $1700. I know a dud in Miami that goes to Japan to buy them. He is heading over soon to buy some Cosmo engines. Thats how I am getting the FD engine for my TII a customer of his is putting in a cosmo engine.
The Series 5 engines are getting really hard to find. He was doubtfull he would be seeing anymore soon.

It was made by Mazda Motor Sports (1-800-435-2508) It cost about a grand. It is used in IT racing and yes Mazda Motor Sports IS a division of Mazda Corporation.
