ok guys i've been reading alot of the posts for about a week now trying to study up on this car, i bought an '85 gsl-se for about $250. the only thing that works on the car are the headlights, they don't go up and down just come on and off high beams and low beams. besides that nothing works, checked the fuse box under the dash replaced a missing fuse still nothing. one of the fusible links was blown or corroded through but would that account for everything else in the car not working? i'm not too familiar with fusible links so these things are a mystery to me. i've read posts about a few people swaping in an engine fuse box from a second gen, what all is involved in the swap and is it extremely difficult? any help would be greatly appreciated because as soon as i can get most of the wiring figured out on the dash and such i will be attemting a second gen turbo swap.

thanks in advance

there are 5 fuseable links in a gsl-se, and one of them does do everything, it answers to the name "main"

you were right mike it was the middle and i now have power to most of the car. a few things are still not getting power like the reverse lights and the side lights front and rear. i guess i still have some tracking of wires to do but its much better than having to tear into the entire dash to track stuff down. i would still like some help on installing a secnd gen engine fuse box to replace the fusible links so if anyone could point me in the right direction on that it's be much appreciated. thanx again mike, and instead of tapping the front cover of the se front cover for an oil return could i just tap the oil pan?

theres already an untapped hole for the oil return. on the side lights i've found the contacts get crusty, usually wiggling the blub makes em work.

Mikes right about the return line.I already did mine on my T2.A pain in my *** to get a line made up but the look is right.Welcome to the club.I bought my 84 SE from a wrecker here for $600 cdn. That was the selling price for me to pick it up even if I had to wire it and put the interior and exterior back together.

thanx racerx, i got mine from a friend who bought it but never went through witht the project. the interior was trashed so i ditched the carpet and will prolly just go with floor mats. i got a question bought the haltech systems. the version that just runs fuel management, is it just a piggy back or does it replace the ecu like the e6k? just wondering cause i got a quote on the fuel management only haltech with 3 bar map sensor and all the other sensors for 1K shipped and i wanted to know if thats about right for the price or is he overcharging me?

k2rd lists the e6k for $1155, so 1k for an f10 seems a tad high (they dont list an f10). the f10 is a full standalone it just doesnt do ignition. you could use it as a piggy back
