Granted you only have 1 hard worker and 4 jackasses. So the jackass will eventially tire out the hard worker and then you will have 5 jackasses.

So plezzz answer truthfully...

MY OUTLOOK:

I would probably award the hard worker, or promote him... I think he does HIS/HER share of work, I dont think it would be fair to unload all the work on him, even though he can handle it, this would make less work for the Jackasses, in turn I dont think its fair at all.

Promote, I think its a good option to show him and the Jackasses that hard work will pay off. This will give him a chance to have a little power to press his views and work habits to hopefully boost the others, then in turn creating team work, morale etc....

My Dad always said you fire your best worker when the others aren't pulling their weight. That motivates the **** out of them, they figure if you fire the best worker they are next LOL

Yeah I would fire someone, but I think it would be one of the Jackasses and it would be the same time as the promote, that way the CLICK goes off in the mind, **** here comes a change....
