Glock 23, the 9mm and the 40 cal are almost the same. Both are really perfect self defense rounds. Good punch and good size.
Mines a 40, i for whatever reason like the feel of the 40 better.

I've had a 40 cal P229 for years. Nicely made and felt better in my hands than some others I shopped for (this was about 8 years ago). You can swap the barrel with a 357sig barrel, and the magazines fit both 40 and 357sig.
At the time, I remember liking the HK USP 40, but it was a little bulky for me, as were the various 45 cal 1911 type pistols.
If I was shopping now, I'd see what Kahr has in a 40. You could email jeffshoots on the other forum. I believe he's a gun dealer IRL, so he should know about everything that's currently available.

Glocks and Sigs are supposed to be very similar in terms of gun per dollar, performance and quality.
I had actually just started looking at some sites the other night that sell firearems. GunBroker.com is kind of like an eBay for firearms but there is a better site that I have lost the address for. Basically, this now forgotten site would allow you to shop for a gun and get quotes from your local dealers, pitting them against each other. A guy I used to work with did this and saved $140.00 on a 9mm Ruger.
Anyone have any good store-type firearms links?
