Some of you guys kill your own argument.
If YOU don't have a gun laying on your night table, how could a criminal get these stolen guns he uses to commit all his crimes?
How are they going to get them if they aren't there? Some of you need to spend some time in Detroit or your other 'Beacons of Freedom'.
If carrying a gun means lower crime I guess that means we're all carrying M16s up here.

I have
4 AR-15's
1 SKS
1 Mosberg police tactical 12guage
1 AR-15 lower with a .22cal upper
1 Calico .22
1 PT99 9mm hand gun
1 Sig P230 hand gun
2 Ruger .22 hand guns
I qualified expert at every range I ever attended in my 14 years of military service and I love guns.
As for those that hate guns you don't deserve to live in a free country...
Criminals will always have guns and if they don't by some act of god then they will have knifes, bats, a steel pipe, spiked clubs, cross bows etc.... The human body is weak and just about anything out there can kill you when used with force. Human DNA is written for violence, we are preditors by nature and there will always be crime and war. Go back a few thousand years before guns were even invented and we still did a damn good job of killing each other. We did it then, we do it now and we will do it until the end of our time. It's only the method of doing it that will change.

I don't hate guns, I just think they should be treated like the weapons they are. In fairness, to me it sounds like most if not all of the fanatics on here are well able to handle a gun, and take good measures to make sure they don't get in the wrong hands. But from the little I have seen, not all gun-owning Americans are this responsible - which IMO is the problem.

My screen name refers to a 20 Ga 18" Mossburg pump with a stream light and a laser sight.
It's cheap & crude, but effective.
If I have to use it, I won't miss.
When I carry, it's a Walther PPKS. Not much power, but very accurate.

That's what counts anyway. The 'stopping power' of pistols is overrated.

I have chinese one of these (mag cut down to 6 rounds) it is surprisingly accurate with the cheap military ammo, its great for wallaby shooting and a bit of deer shooting, both of which are considered pests here. On the controll/crime argument I have a feeling that we have more guns per capita than the US not 100% on that though, and there is very little gun related crime, the gun related crime does seem to be going up at the moment though with drug related stuff

The surplus Russian ammo is as good as anything you can put through it plus it's as cheap as dirt.

Compared to my AR-15's the accuracy sucks on the SKS. I upgraded mine with a polimer stock, scope mount and a short 4x32mm scope so it doesn't interfere with the loading and extraction of rounds. Rounds for it are cheap and it makes a loud *** bang so it's fun to play with, but I don't think I'd use it for any kind of hunting out past 100 meters...
