those are made spendy, most people have recommend dell, and for all the specs its a good price vs the others. Remember Rx7 is priority #1, not my damn comp that i play video games on...

I like P4 1.6a's through 2.0a's, they overclock with the stock hsf easily. I've been running my 1.6a at 2.0 for a while and a few times at 2.4.

Naw, if you are dead set on Intel I'd get at least the 2.4 for the 533mhz bus.

FYI though, at factory settings my rig scored equal to a Pentium 4 2.0 with the rest of the rig being the same

I have an XP1800 with;

512x1 Corsair cl2.5 PC2100

ATi Radeon 8500LE 128mb @ retail clock speeds

Maxtor Diamondmax 60gb ATA100 HD

Soundblaster 128 pci

10x HP CD/RW

i bought a nice comp called a vpr matrix after i sold the comp i built. For something i got for under $1k it is nice:

80 Gb HDD

nVidia TNT2 64mb AGP (had a v5500 PCI but decided not to put it in and sold it instead...since i dont play games much anymore i havent upgraded)

Pentium 4 1.6Ghz

512MB DDR Ram

CD/DVD Player

DVD Burner

24x10x40 CD-R Drive

keyboard, mouse, speakers, "anti-carpal tunnel syndrome pad thingy"

it's a very nice computer that i got a good deal on like prolly a year ago

kevin.

I also used to own an alienware, i toasted it (completely my fault) told them and they fixed it for free. Great company with even better products, they just tend to get pricey.

kevin x 2.
