I'd like to see a new RX-7 that costs around $50,000. That way Mazda won't have to cut corners to make the car affordable.

I just read an awesome article in Road & Track, I think, about the RX-7...the FD in particular. It was basically saying to go out and buy one because you can't beat the performance for the going rate of $15K.
Anyways, Mazda is either going to stun us or disappoint us completely. That may seem obvious, but our expectations are so high now that they're going to have to do something really special for us to be pleased....like, umm...under 3000lbs and 300+ HP. Oh and nothing that causes as much problems as the sequential turbo system in the FD...

The big three are the only ones to put out factory "supercars". To compete w/ them the car would have to cost 50,000usd, put 450+ hp to the street and they would probably only sell 4, partially due to the fact that it's an import.
Who are you gonna sell two seat sports cars to? Young ppl who cannot afford an unpractical car, or older ppl who have to pick between a Corvette, a Viper, or a car that hasn't been sold in any showroom in America in almost 10 years.
And don't you dare say Miata, who ever suggested that should be slapped!
(god damned Del SOl copy, I hate F@CKING HONDA"S)

It needs to outperform a C6 vette, at the least.
A C6 is cheaper and more feasible than a Viper; however, it's going to take a lot to convert Vette-people to imports.
This economic speak is making my head hurt.

So then my initial speculations should be changed.

mazda needs to make the new rx7 look different for all the rest of their cars.
Mazada3, 6, rx8 all pretty muhc look the same.

It's great that Mazda is building "edgy" into all of their new cars, but there has to be a HUGE distinction between a Sportscar (RX-8) and a Minivan (MPV).
I think that they should stay away from making the 7 eightish. In other words, the SA/FB were squareish, so was the FC, the FD was roundish but then Mazda went back to squarish for the 8. They should make the new 7 round again, because all of their current cars are rough and squarish LOL.
The back needs to be low, not kicked up. The front even lower and have a gentle slope. The fenders should be accented, but not visibly (that one might be hard to grasp LOL) and keep the Rotor marks off the car dammit. The 8 has about 10 ****** rotor signs on it, we get the point, chill with that ****.
Oh oh oh, must have some new kind of cool pop-ups. HEHE
