After tax and such, it was like $190.
that's cheap, i think we were more like $250 or so
oh and sometimes its cheaper just to do an oil change and tire rotation, its the same work, just different price

I know the fuel induction service we offer at the dealer I work at is a little different. we actually have a small tank with a pressure regulator we fill with a detergent, hook an air line to, and start the car running on just the detergent, runs for about 10 min, car dies when it runs out, then put back on the fuel line. I actually got about 3mpg out of it by doing it at 150k on my corolla.

yea we have a canister that has like an injector at the end of a line that we put between your intake tube and TB, then the can is hooked to an air press. regulator and attached to shop air. Then we turn the engine on and switch on the tank. Then you hold the car at 3-4k rpms for 5 minutes or until the cleaner runs out.
the 3's, 5's, and 6's that dont have this service done at least in 15-20k intervals, when they get higher mileage start having the intake manifold tuning valves (IMRC, IMTV) get stuck which sets an engine light, and sometimes necessitates intake manifold replacement.

Is that where they feed some STP fuel system cleaner in through a vacuum port?

yea plenty of different version, same sorta end result. i prefer before the TB entry tho because then it cleans the TB very well.
and as j9 said the 5 & 10k (20k,25k, 35,40,50,55,65,70 etc) services are normally just more expensive version of a lof and rotate. the ones with real work included are 15,30,45,60,75,90,105...etc
rotate every 5k is my preference, 5's are decent on tires tho. cx7's and 3's eat up tires for breakfast (3's have a weird problem with the rear tires, and cx7s are just weird)
kevin.
