if you own a house outright here with tax and insurance you will pay at least $600 a month. that may not sound like much if you live in nyc, but the wages here are ****. The cost of living has rocketed since we moved here, the taxes go up around 10% a year, and they are constantly adding to it for things like drainage and sidewalks would should have been put in when the places were built.

Oh, that sounds like city crap. I don't live in city limits, so I think I pay less. I know for a fact my utilities are less than the city folks here.
unincorporated? thats kinda good, theres no direct law enforcement, just the sherrif.

haha i was watching cops one night and they found a dead guy who'd been shot. None of them could tell if he was really dead or not though so one walked up and started poking him. It was just funny to hear them "is he dead?" no i dont think so.. oh no wait he is.. oops.

I just had my septic tank pumped for $185 bux. Good for another 5+ years. The well still works, and I take my garbage to the county landfill every couple of weeks for $3 a truckload. Utilities? Whazzat?

Garbage service is fuggin cheap here and they will take ANYTHING you put on the curb for no additional fee, you can even put dead bodies out there if you put them in plastic bags.
Power is absolutely ******* rediculous, anywhere from $200 to $500 a month and that includes a brand new high efficiency ac unit. Taxes suck, but having looked at alternative states i dont know that they are that bad, i guess it's just getting expensive to live any place remotely decent. sewer and water are cheap.
The city has no sidewalks, terrible drainage and shitty roads, it would be one thing if those services were good, but paying taxes for nothing sucks. I must admit the police force is quite present and they are amazingly quick to respond to calls, maybe 5 minutes.
