Where there's a will, there's a way! I got my FD at 19. Paid 18k for it too (40k miles, mint). I owe less than 7 now. I was lucky to have parents with deep pockets, so when the engine popped (and I knew NOTHING about the motor), I had it replaced by a certified tech, along with the clutch.. $5700 was a lot to spend two months after I got the car. Thanks again Dad!!

And so on.....Ok new plan. Go to bank, get 500.00 loan, make two payments, and pay it off, all with the 500.00 from the lloan. Then i have credit history, and try again.

maybe this is a dumb question...but did you tell them up front the loan was for a car? Can you just get a general loan approved without telling them it is for an automobile...maybe then the age of the auto won't come into play? A collateral loan against what you have in your savings?
Recently I have been looking into getting a new car...so I went to the bank so see about a loan. Its a small place that has known me for quite a few years. I'm 24 and they had no problem approving me...as long as you have a full time job.
