I keep reading this and I cant figure out what your saying?
I think he is saying that he already owned a car that was worth the amount of a FD. So the bank held the title to the paid for car as collateral for the FD. Thats what I got from it anyways.

that was very lucky of you to find a bank to do that deacon

I tried that when I was 18, and the bank laughed at me, lol

If you cant afford to pay cash for the car, YOU CANT AFFORD IT!

Who gives a **** if it is what you want, whaa ******* whaa!. Go work your *** off a few years and try something NOVEL: SAVE THE MONEY TO BUY A CAR, you will be happier.

There are people on this forum still paying for loans on cars they no longer own or dont run. The FD is not a car for someone making 7.45/hr being a parts jockey. Now quite wasting your time whining about how unfair the banks are and go get a second or third job to EARN the money first!

another note, have you been in or driven an FD before? ever since i saw teh first one back in 94 i said to myself id own one. to tell u the truth its been kinda hard to get used to it, not that its a bad car, i was just used to the simplicity and "try to kill me me if u can" flair of teh FB. so id say drive/ride on one then take it from there. u might be better off with an FC.

Driven a 93 touring, my 87 FC, and my dads 86 FC. I make 10.50/hr an hour, and i work an average of 55-60 hours a week, with an upcoming start in NJ DOC (40k/yr start).

I can afford it, depends on how you interpret afford. Can i make the payments? Yes.

Where there's a will, there's a way! I got my FD at 19. Paid 18k for it too (40k miles, mint). I owe less than 7 now. I was lucky to have parents with deep pockets, so when the engine popped (and I knew NOTHING about the motor), I had it replaced by a certified tech, along with the clutch.. $5700 was a lot to spend two months after I got the car. Thanks again Dad!!
