Unhappy

Hey does anyone have the problem of their gilr friend of wife hating your RX-7. She complains that its old and I should sell it to get a newer BMW M3. My wife hates how the car puts you in the seat when you step on it or the smell from the exhaust. I love my FD but she will not drop this about selling the Fd to get a car that a lot of other people have. What do ya think?

The last thing you want to do is do something You don't want to do.

i think the m3 is for people who are so insecure that they think a bmw will make them cool. when in reality its just a good daily driver

It's got too many chips, too easy to drive and control, way to easy to want you needing more oomph? It's as easy as a hooker, I like a challange.

What year M3? The new ones are double VANOS and run quite well. They handle well, and run a 13.1 in the 1/4 stock with the SMG. They're pretty modable and are a very nice daily driver, with tons of track potential. A new M3 will run you 55K though.. so they're not cheap. If your wife doesn't like how the acceleration feels in your 7 then an M3 isn't for her.

Is this really about cars, or about her wanting something material that's nice and flashy?

Both are good cars.. if you get a new M3. The E30 M3s were 4 cyls, and the E36 M3s were wimpy for the price.

Yah. Doesn't your wife have a car of her own? Why does she feel the need to tell you what to drive? Is it to impress the Biff's and Buffy's at the country club? Or does she just need something to do?

actually the e30 was a purist sports car, and the e36 i find handles better than the m3....theyre not drag cars bro - theyre made to handle well and have power to back it up

i think bmw is going in the reverse order...i would own an e30 way before i would ever think of owning an e46

luxury-sports. ... blah
