Anyways the FD is way more of an exotic and sexy car than the BMW will ever be. Makes no sense.

 

Interesting thread as my "boss" also said the same about getting rid of my useless FD and get an M3. So we went M3 shopping yesterday. The SMG II is a novelty and plain sux...although the throttle blipping during downshifts is cool. Handling is very good...power is even and linear - a bit too linear. Stock FD owners may feel it's a lateral move but modded FD owners will be disappointed with it's lack of oomph. It is also quite pricey ($75-102K up in Canada).



Also went to check out the STi...looks promising....but most wives will prolly slam the boy-racer look. But if you can get over the aesthetics, it may be a better replacement for the FD than an M3 would. IMHO.
